                                            Salinas High School Alama Mater

Here’s to Salinas High,
Praise be her name.
Here’s to our alma mater dear,
We’ll uphold her fame.
Here’s to our colors fair,
Purple and gold.
Ever loyal, ever true,
Hail, hail, hail.

Salinas High School planted its roots in the community more than a hundred years ago. In 1920, the present campus was constructed on Main Street.

The school’s tower has become a familiar profile to thousands of students who attended school there and to community members who helped improve the educational process.

Historically speaking, we can also claim John Steinbeck as senior class president at Salinas High in 1919. His writings about the city and its people have been shared by many, both in the community and through out the country.
